Kaja Põlluste, MD, PhD, is associate professor in internal medicine in the Institute of Clinical Medicine at the University of Tartu, Estonia. Her research is focused on the quality and safety of care and health-related quality of life targeting patients with chronic conditions. She is also teaching the health care quality management and patient safety to the undergraduate medical students and master students in nursing science at the University of Tartu. Since 2017, she represents the University of Tartu in the national quality and safety group at the Ministry of Social Affairs and is the national coordinator of the translation and adoption of patient safety terminology into Estonian language.
